A glider kit is basically a new truck without an engine, transmission or rear axles. You do have the option of ordering a remanufactured engine in a Detroit, Caterpillar or Cummins configuration. A glider kit comes with a Title for the year of the glider kit your are purchasing even though you are using some of your old components. The Freightliner Glider Kit is the most complete kit on the market because it includes a spare parts box which includes all your plumbing, suspension, air intake, brakes valve assemblies and suspension parts if ordered that way.

We will assemble your unit for you or we can drop ship it to your location. Our glider kits come with a self help CD and instruction manual which will walk you through the process of assembling your glider kit if you choose to do it your self. Models - On Highway - Coronado, Century Class, Columbia, and Xl Classic

All on highway models can be ordered with remanufactured engines. The choices are Detroit, Cat or Cummins. An engine core is required with a remanufactured engine or there will be a charge. You can spec out a glider as if you where ordering a new truck with the exception of the transmission, rear axles, tires and wheels. A Glider Kit is also available per your specific serial number if you so desire.

Coronado Glider Kits are available with two sleeper options: 70 mid roof XT and the 70” raised roof. Century Class and Columbia models come with the following sleeper options: 34”, 48”, 58”, and 70” mid roofs and also in 70” mid roof XT and 70” Raided roof. XL Classic’s offer even more sleeper options: 48”, 58” and 70” Flat Top and mid roof sleepers, as well as 70” and 84” Raised Roof Sleepers.

 

 

Off Highway

Severe Duty gliders can be ordered in tractor configuration and truck – trailer configurations. We have two different cab styles available for server duty use. The FLD120SD is the traditional heavy duty tractor and truck model. Also available is the severe duty Columbia, also available as a tractor or truck.

Options include both powered and non-powered kits. Engine choices include the Caterpillar 3406E and C-15, Cummins N-14 and ISM. And Detroit Series 60. Front axle selections include 12K, 14K, 18K and 20K models. We have both single and double frames, and super duty single frames with up to more than 3 million in./lbs. RBM. Frames can be unfinished or complete with cross members and or suspensions. Suspensions include a selection of air ride and spring types with Hendrickson, Chalmers, and Freightliner Brands. Sleeper options are also available.

Warranty: The warranty on a Glider kit is the same as a new truck with the exception of the Engine, Transmission and Rear Axles.
